‘Searing Summer’ actresses grab awards at Dhaka Int’l filmfest

Iranian film ‘Searing Summer’ has succeeded to receive the Best Actress Award from the 16th edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh.

According to the Dhaka festival’s website the award was jointly given to Parinaz Izadyar and Mina Sadati for their roles in 'Searing Summer' directed by Ebrahim Irajzad.

The film follows Nasrin who wants to get divorce, but knows she won’t be able to get custody of her six-year-old daughter in the case. Without her husband knowing, she moves to another part of town with her daughter. When her husband catches up with her, their lives take an unexpected turn.

The cast list for the flick includes Izadyar, Sadati, Ali Mosaffa, Yasna Mirtahmasb and Saber Abar.

The Dhaka International Film Festival is a biennial film festival held in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Established in 1992, the festival is one of the most prestigious film events in Bangladesh, dedicated to introduce the mainstream global cinema to the local filmmakers as well as to promote healthy cine culture within Bangladesh.

The event has been slated for January 12-20, 2018.
